Raffi Does the Shuffle to a Bad Dubstep Remix of Banana Phone
Exactly what it says on the tin. I happened to be watching a bunch of VSauce videos on YouTube and learned about wubmachine.com which auto-generates dubstep remixes of whatever songs you put in. Instantly, I had this idea.

TMNT Tribute
Well, with a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series underway, I decided to do up my own little tribute to the franchise.
So that's that. I've actually got a small, goofy animation coming in the next post. Stay tuned.

Mr. Mighty Wallpaper
Not much to say about this. I'm the current artist on the webcomic Everyday Heroes (written by Ed Gedeon) and I decided to do a character-tribute desktop wallpaper for the main hero. Enjoy!

Storyboarding Reel
Combining animatic clips from my grad film (Dreamworld) and my still in-production short film (Escalation) I've put together a demo reel of some of my favourite storyboard work from both:

Escalation The Animatic (Good Quality)
So, when I used blogger's in-built video uploader for this animatic earlier, I did not foresee that the quality would be so terrible. Well, live and learn. Here's an embed of the Vimeo link:

MLP Avatars
I had been wanting to do something like this for a while now; most of my drawing time in these last several weeks has been dedicated to Everyday Heroes so it took a while before I found the time.

I'm not going to mince words; I freaking love Penn and Teller. I have a ticket ready to see them next Saturday and I'm full of fangirl-style giddiness in anticipation.

Venom Tribute Finished
Time has been flying by so quickly for me that I think I have serious whiplash. I'm just dumbfounded that we're already well into May.
So updates; between work and drawing Everyday Heroes, I'm doing my best to work on storyboarding a new short film while also trying to keep myself healthy and getting out once in a while. It's a very delicate balance.

A Rough Poison
Some time ago, when asking friends for things to draw, my friend Mark suggested a sequential art piece showing Eddie Brock transforming into Venom. Originally, I just did some thumbnails and ultimately made an animation out of it. This is a rough I did more recently with the intention of finishing as an individual piece.
And for anyone interested in the animation I made before:

Gasp!
I'm mentioned on TV Tropes!
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EverydayHeroes
When I first agreed to start drawing Everyday Heroes with Edward Gedeon, I didn't quite realize that the comic was already so far underway. Despite my initial impression, it's been updated infrequently for around 5 years now and I was shocked when I first saw the name come up on what was, at the time, nothing more than a boredom-killing trip to the website TV Tropes.
I e-mailed Ed about it, feeling all excited for the recognition; he got back to me, confirming that he knew of the site and wrote much of the page about our comic himself. In any case, I'm happy to see the recognition.

New Artist for Everyday Heroes
As I'm sure you can gather from the title of today's post, I am now the artist for the webcomic Everyday Heroes (written by Edward Gedeon), hosted over at Webcomics Nation: http://www.webcomicsnation.com/eddurd/everydayheroes/series.php
I've only done the last few comics so far but we're getting settled into a twice-a-week update schedule so expect to see more from me on there frequently.

Entering The Dark Woods
After getting a feel for digital painting, I wanted to do something where I could combine it with the crisp vector style I had been using. This image popped into my head earlier today and it seemed perfect for the job.

Time-Lapse: The Raven, with Reading
Below is a time-lapse video of me painting my tribute to The Raven. Unlike my previous time-lapse videos, this one includes audio. In addition to doing the painting, I also recorded myself doing a reading of the poem. I wanted to do this much sooner but I've been too busy with all the various things I call life to find some time to do a recording session.
Anyway, enjoy!

The Raven
Don't worry, I still really enjoy doing my vector art, but I'm having some fun with digital painting as well. I've been slowly trying to memorize Poe's classic poem for a few months now (it usually doesn't take me this long to memorize anything, especially when it rhymes, but there's just a few lines that keep dropping from my memory) and I wanted to create some sort of tribute to it.

I Am The Night
I made this drawing specifically to experiment with some new screen-recording software I acquired. I recorded the whole process from rough gesture to final colouring and I'm planning to post time-lapse footage of it on youtube which I will likely afterwards post here, assuming nothing goes wrong.

Faces of Skepticism
These guys are gonna be at the Reason Rally this year. I really wish I could have any chance at making it to that. I really want to meet James Randi and...well...the guy's in his 80's. He probably won't be around for too much longer.
